Getting Better All The Time….!
Practicing is the most important part of improving your Ukulele skills! (Skillz!)
Find a quiet place in your home and find a time you can play every day - it may not be the same time every day but try to make it a habit!
PLAY FOR A MINUTE:
Choose something you want to improve - maybe you want to be able to switch from D chord to the A chord more smoothly without stops (or other chords if you have already mastered these two.)
Have your chard chart there, look at the clock , and then for a MINUTE - without stopping! - play the D for 8 strums, then switch to the A for 8 strums, then back. Keep the pattern going. Don't stop strumming. Your left hand might sounds odd for a while as your fingers learn where to find the notes.
DON'T STOP UNTIL THE MINUTE IS UP!
Do another minute of this. Next time try 6 strums, then move to 4, etc.
This also works for:
ONE MINUTE!!! and then the next minute!!!! Don't quit! In a few days you will hear that you are improving with that skill!!! Awesome!!!

- Practicing Scales - break it into small parts (maybe just go up, then add down) for ONE MINUTE!
- Practicing scale - play every other note softly, every third note, every fourth note….or louder…..!
- Practicing some notes in the music where you're sure it doesn't sound s good as you'd like it to.
- Memorizing the words to a new song the class is working on.
- Getting your fingers moving faster in a picking piece.
- Reading notes - choose a note you want to recognize better, play all of that note on a page - for one minute!
